Call for Papers - 1st  International Brain and Mind Expo 2012

All papers and other contributions to be submitted with a 150 word abstract, application via the internet on or before 21 November 2011

Invitation

The Steering Committee of the 1st International Brain and Mind Expo, invites submissions from those interested in presenting at the 1st International Brain and Mind Expo to be held in Hong Kong SAR China at the Kowloonbay International Trade and Exhibition Centre from 03 – 04 February, 2012.

Presentations

We welcome presentations in a variety of formats that contribute to the theme of the Expo.  These include:

  • Lesson Demonstration
  • Individual or Group presentation – possibly including theory and practice
  • Seminar with a question & answer time at the end
  • Interactive Workshop i.e. participation by the group attending
  • Poster presentation
  • Innovative sessions with a creative format!  (please describe this proposal in detail)

Preference will be given to innovative material and interactive presentations

Duration of Presentation

Time for Presentation may range from the following:  30 mins, 60 mins or 75 mins.

Application Process

If you would like to present at the 1st International Brain and Mind Expo you can make your application via the Internet.  All abstracts to be submitted electronically to: <anson@brainandmindexpo.com>.  Faxed or hard copies will not be accepted.

Key Dates

  • Closing date for the receipt of abstracts is 21 November, 2011
  • You will be notified of the outcome of your application to present by

28 November, 2011

We request that you do not contact the Expo Organiser with queries about the status of abstracts prior to this date.

Conditions

All presenters are required to register to attend the Expo.  Acceptance of abstracts into the program is contingent upon receipt of the registration fee.

Abstract guidelines  (Please download and use the Abstract Submission Form)

The abstract heading contains:

  • Title in BLOCK CAPITALS throughout.
  • All presenter(s) name(s) (first name and surname). The surname of the principal presenter should be bolded
  • Contact details for principal presenter (e-mail & telephone no.)
  • Institution(s), city, state and country.

The abstract should provide sufficient information for delegates to make an informed decision about their attendance at this particular presentation.

Abstracts should be approx. 150 words (this does not include titles or addresses) and be written in English or Chinese. Please indicate the language for Presentation (English, Putonghua or Cantonese).

Abstracts to be submitted in Word for Windows format, using the Abstract Submission Form provided.

Presenters should clearly indicate on the abstract submission form the type of presentation that they are submitting.

For proposals with more than one presenters, only one person should submit the abstract, and this person will be the contact for all correspondence concerning the abstract with the Expo Secretariat.
A 50 word biography of the principal presenter to be provided.  You may add some details of the other presenters if you choose.

Acknowledgment of supporting institutions may be made at the end of the text.

Abstracts received after the closure date may not be accepted.

The Committee may limit the number of presentations by any one person, organization or institution in order to provide as many people as possible with the opportunity to present.

Publication of Abstracts

The 1st International Brain and Mind Expo Steering Committee will consider publishing accepted abstracts exactly as submitted.  Your abstract should thus be checked for accuracy prior to submission.
